What made The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Rings so successful?
Was it the sprawling landscape, all the different types of creatures, the story, the dialogue... what was it?
I'm talking about the movie!
I think partly the fact that it was (and is) a greatly book, and that came through into the movie as well.
Of course, the New Zealand scenery, the computer generated creatures, the little funny parts--mainly with Merry and Pippen-- and the battles all added up to a killer movie.
So, yeah, I think it was everything you mentioned. It wouldn't have been the same without any one of those things.
